A nature’s gift
187 km north of Athens center, in the island of Evia (Euboea), the town of Edipsos is located.

Port of Edipsos

Its center is spreading in the main coastal road across the seaside, where a long line of all kind of tavernas and cafes can be found. People of all ages are sitting around or walk up and down, overlooking the alive little fishing port as well as the ferries connecting the city with Agios Konstandinos. At dusk, during summer months, this road remains closed off to automobiles making it much more inviting and safe.

Edipsos is a conventional resort, except that it is blessed by Nature! And, its invaluable gift is unique thermal springs! You will easily find them on the south side of the city. As you walk down to the coastal road, you will see people bathing near the rocks all year round, where steaming hot water is pouring into the sea. It is tempting to try and it is for free! But keep in mind that there are no infrastructures and the rocks are really slippery.

According to the myth, Edipsos hot springs have been created by Hephaestus, the god of fire, when he struck Earth with his hammer. The springs have been known since the antiquity, and even the Romans were using it. Nowadays, lots of celebrities including Aristoteles Onassis and Winston Churchill had visited them too.
